Group Therapy 101
When one is going through any type of mental healing, a group environment can be one of the most beneficial ways to foster a better recovery. Those who have utilized group therapy often report that going though the process of healing with others can help make them reflect on their struggles from a new perspective. During group sessions, people in the group can lift each other up and help one another make progress, hold each other accountable and remind each other of their goals. Group therapy environments allow for vulnerability, self-awareness and support in a safe environment where you can learn, share and grow. Some people lack a natural support group in their life. A new support system born out of group therapy can bring a level of accountability to the lives of group members.
